North Country FM Snapshot
North Country Snow and Ice Management was founded in 2003 with four plows, four trucks and four partners, since then it has grown to a multi-million dollar company with two divisions that have provided service in, 11 Northeast/ Mid-Atlantic states. The principle owner’s, Michael Merrill - CEO and Scott McDonald - CPO, have established relationships with many national vendors and now provide recurring service for hundreds of FM, 150+ commercial land and over 260 commercial snow and ice management client’s. Of course they do not do this alone; North Country employ’s approximately 50 summer and over 200 winter employees. The company specializes in commercial, medical and industrial properties. 

Facilities Maintenance
The commercial facilities maintenance (R&M) side of the company was established 2008 and branded in 2012, under the direction of Scott McDonald, our Chief Operations Officer.

As the Chief Operating Officer, Scott directs and coordinates all activities of the Technicians and Subcontractors. He defines project budgets, inspects facilities and validates recommendations for allocation of crews, equipment and procedural changes. He audits subcontractors for compliance, performance and billing as well as overseeing the procurement of equipment, supplies and material. Scott has over twenty-five years of construction experience.

Ben Murphy - Executive Project Manager

As the Executive Project Manager, Ben directs and coordinates field activities of the Crews, Technicians and Subcontractors. He is responsible for change orders, meeting budgeting targets, allocation of crews, equipment and procedures. Ben has over twenty years of masonry and construction experience with North Country and as owner of Midline Masonry.

Clark Grabb - Bookkeeper

Clark holds a MBA in Accounting and is responsible for ensuring that all accounting allocations are appropriately made and documented; performs cash management functions and oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliation functions.  Clark works with management to coordinate all financial planning functions with business operations. 

Matthew Doyle - Lead Facilities Technician/ Ops Foreman

Matt joined the company in 2004 as the lead technician/ operations foreman. He is the former Safety Manager and has over fifteen years FM, Construction, Winter Management and Irrigation experience.

As Chief Executive Officer, Michael focuses on the business and continuity of North Country’s brands. He has over twenty years of management experience with North Country and Darden Restaurants.
